Quick Products Update

Hello All,

Just wanted to give you all a quick products update!

First, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet is available to purchase for those interested. As I stated when I first mentioned this product on the blog, if you can live without an SD Card reader of any sort and value portability, this could be the product for you! Feel free to check out video reviews on the web.

Second... It looks like Lenovo has released another Chromebook, The Lenovo Chromebook 3. This is a 14 inch Chromebook with a Celeron processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 32 GB hard drive. It's very similar to the Lenovo Chromebook I have now and that gets the job done as far as my real estate business goes. It has all the necessary ports including a MicroSD Card reader and is only $249 on Lenovo's website... This could be an intriguing value option for real estate professionals who just need a computer that works!

Lastly... it looks like Acer has released various Chromebook 314 Models... one of which has a Pentium Silver with 8 GB of RAM and a 64 GB Hard Drive, which is very intriguing. They also come with all the necessary ports that us Real Estate professionals need including a card reader!

There are more products to come! If you're a real estate professional thinking about making the switch to Chrome OS like I have, now is really the time to start seriously considering it.

As always, thanks for reading!

Until next time,
Dave

P.S. Stay safe and healthy! Please follow local guidelines and regulations regarding COVID-19. Thank you.

It's been a couple months...

Hey All, I know it has been a couple months since I last posted on here. While I have been following Chrome OS developments, I have been waiting for something more concrete to write about and that should be coming soon. CES, the Consumer Electronics Show, is happening in early January and should be giving us not only new Chrome OS devices... but other great tech for real estate professionals for us to delve into on here as well. Personally, I am looking forward to all of it. The main rumors going around for what will be unveiled are new Samsung and Asus Chromebooks... but as always, there could be more (and I personally hope for more in that regard).  I also hopefully will get my hands on a working version Parallels for Chrome OS to see how well Parallels works on Chrome OS. I've used Parallels on Macs in the passed and it worked really well for not just Microsoft Office applications, but Windows based applications and programs in general. That's all for now. Have a great hol...

Using Chromebooks for Training

Hello All, One thing Realtors and Brokers have to consistently do is train and earn CEUs (Continuing Education Units). The cool thing is that this can all be done completely online and since every online learning platform for Real Estate that I have encountered is completely web-based, that means you can do it on Chrome OS! A couple great places to get real estate training done online are: The CE Shop NAR Online Learning Center I am aware that there are other sites out there; I just personally have not used them yet so I am not going to recommend a site that I have not personally used yet. Another thing I might add is that we should not just be focused on what is just required in terms of CEUs, we should also be constantly learning about different types of technology and how they may help (or in some cases not help) how we conduct business in the Real Estate industry. Usually I have a little more to say than this, but with the current pandemic situation things have been a ...

Long Time No Update.. so let's talk AMD and Zillow

Hey All! I know it's been quite a long time since I posted so I just wanted to check in and apologize for not posting in what seems like forever. There is not a lot of news on the Chrome OS front except for one major thing... AMD Ryzen Chromebooks are on the way! I personally prefer AMD processors to Intel processors and AMD's Ryzen processors are the cream of the crop. My Windows laptop (that I hardly use anymore because of how much I prefer using Chrome OS) has an AMD Ryzen 5 processor in it for example. Lenovo and HP have already announced Chromebooks with AMD Ryzen processors on the way and AMD has said that Acer and Asus will also be announcing such devices in the near future. According to benchmarks, the AMD Ryzen processors outperform Intel Core processors, so this is very exciting for us real estate professionals who want better performance in the devices we use to conduct our business. I feel very excited with these developments regarding AMD... Unfortunately I can...
