Hello All,

I did not expect to be writing another post so soon, but a game changing event in Chrome OS that directly affects those of us who use Chrome OS for our real estate business has been announced. Are you all ready? Well, here it is:

Parallels is coming to Chrome OS!

Yes, through Parallels Desktop, you will be able to run Windows applications, including Windows versions of Microsoft Office, on Chromebooks, Chromeboxes, and Chromebases.

It is supposed to happen as soon as this fall, yes, Fall 2020!

I am stoked!

I have used Parallels on Mac OS before and it worked wonderfully. I was able to run full windows on an iMac when I was in college and it made my college life a lot easier. It is the best Windows emulator out there, bar none. Now that Parallels will soon be on Chrome OS, it only makes it that much easier for someone to switch their business over to the Chrome OS operating system because you will be able to get the best of Windows and Office as well.

I repeat that I did not expect this to happen, but it did. I could not be more excited.

Once I get my seminars up and running, I will definitely include Parallels in them to show how easy it is for real estate professionals to switch to Chrome OS.

I hope that you all share my excitement about this. This is truly a game changer!

Again, thank you as always for reading!

A new gem from HP

Hello All, HP has been on a roll lately, now coming out with a new flagship consumer Chromebook, the Chromebook x360 14c. There will be multiple variants of this Chromebook and it will be available both directly from HP and from Best Buy. At minimum, you get a Pentium 6405u processor with 4 GB of RAM and at the high end you get an Intel 10th Gen i5 with 8 GB of RAM. I am not too sure about hard drive specifications but the good news is that it does come with all the necessary ports including a card reader! It is also USI Pen compatible for those who like an e-signature to look like a wet signature. This is a 14" convertible machine with a touchscreen which should be the right mix of business and pleasure for most real estate professionals. By all accounts, the lowest spec Pentium model will start at $499 once it becomes available. I am personally very interested in this one and I may very well get one myself, though I've probably said that before on here and haven

Just Checking In

Hello, Just thought I'd check in. There is not a lot going on right now in terms of Chrome OS for Real Estate because of the recent events. I stand with the protesters and I have spoken at depth about this on my personal social media accounts, so I will not go into detail on that here other than to say that Black Lives Matter. Just wanted to make sure everyone was doing well. I hope have some news to post in the very near future in terms of Chrome OS for real estate. Until next time, Dave

Using Chromebooks for Training

Hello All, One thing Realtors and Brokers have to consistently do is train and earn CEUs (Continuing Education Units). The cool thing is that this can all be done completely online and since every online learning platform for Real Estate that I have encountered is completely web-based, that means you can do it on Chrome OS! A couple great places to get real estate training done online are: The CE Shop NAR Online Learning Center I am aware that there are other sites out there; I just personally have not used them yet so I am not going to recommend a site that I have not personally used yet. Another thing I might add is that we should not just be focused on what is just required in terms of CEUs, we should also be constantly learning about different types of technology and how they may help (or in some cases not help) how we conduct business in the Real Estate industry. Usually I have a little more to say than this, but with the current pandemic situation things have been a
